Atari direct mailers campaign

Brief_
The brief was to design a three-step direct mail campaign for Atari Arcade. Atari is a well-known gaming brand – famous for inventing the joystick.
Atari Arcade consists of 6 classic arcade games repackaged and modified for PC. Each game is playable with a joystick, mouse, or keyboard.

Target market_
Gen X gamers who grew up with the simple pixel graphics of arcade games and would like to recapture the nostalgia of that era.

Rationale_
My concept for this project revolves around the idea of 8 bit heroes. I decided to create a league of 8 extraordinary superheroes out of 8 bit pixels. The idea was to bring the love for Atari game and the love of superheroes together.
The campaign aims to celebrate the art of gaming and where it all started. Central to this was creating an own identity and achieving the top spot on the highest score list.

The high score competition is promoted in gaming magazineaor websites It gives directions to register for the online game.
After registration players are assigned 1 of 8 superhero profiles, based on their registration details.  On registration players receive a mail with the Atari a bit hero trump card.
The third step is to play the game. When players achieve a certain score they receive an invite to the Atari 8 bit superhero event. The event invite and entry is an 8-bit hero mask received through the mail.
At the event the winners of the game is announced. Winners receive a badge and a branded flash drive containing the Atari Arcade games package.
